First & Forever

After celebrating 50 years in the business, iconic British boot maker Dr Martens are taking a trip down nostalgia lane. First and forever is the campaign that brings the new A/W collection by Dr Martens and searches the mind of the DM lovers and users for nostalgic memories in reassurance of the brand’s quintessential place in British fashion sub-culture. Their new concept for the First and Forever campaign plays on a sense of youthful nostalgia that marries fashion, music, romance and some beautiful imagery (a good example of a branded campaign where everything fits). It captures perfectly what Dr. Martens is about – youth subcultures and a little bit of rebelliousness – but it’s also gentle from the still shots of the campaign.

The campaign encourages people to also remember their special ‘firsts’, whether it was your first pair of Dr. Martens, first love or first anything. On an interactive map online, Dr. Martens will bring together these first’s from around the world, for you to enjoy and share (and you can win a pair of DM’s whilst you’re at it). So go on and share your first at www.firstandforever.drmartens.co.uk

Most wanted: Sam Edelman

Each season the Lorissa features in the Sam Edelman collection with fresh colours and finishes being added each time, and each time I have been dying to get my hands on a pair. I can’t get enough of the studs, gems, and with the added colour of black these are my perfect kind of shoes.

J Crew Spring 2012

‘J Crew’s runway debut at the Lincoln Centre may have been my favourite presentation of the entire week. The collection stayed true to the brand’s preppy aesthetic, with saturated brights and quirky tailored pieces. I could see each and every piece having a space in my Spring wardrobe, my personal favourite being the sea green & blue matching pants ensemble.’

The tailored jacket in contrast with the flowing draped fabric is so feminine - a genius creation done by Haider Ackermann for his Spring 2012 collection.

Dior couture show without John Galliano

Christian Dior Haute Couture - Fall 2011 show collection was a mix of crazy cosmos, disco dollys and splatters of crystals with a space and geometry vibe - quite experimental and charming but pastel colours in Autumn/Winter, really?! What’s next Dior?

My unhealthy obsession with make up has descended me to the erotic campaign that is the Theatre of the Nameless, Illamasqua’s AW11 make up collection. I can’t get enough of the avant garde look for their fall collection that not only show creative and adventurous make up but offer a story with characters interpreting the subcultures in Berlin in the 1920’s.
